So it is possible.....does it look ok? I was thinking of going to an online store and getting the precut pieces to fit over the lenses...would this be better or the same.

Dude i tried it. And i tried it. And i tried it. I couldnt get it right so i gave up. Its worth the $15 to go have it done by a pro. Well my club has a tint place that sponsors us so i got quoted $115 for full window tint and tail light tinting.

I did the same thing. Its not worth the effort. You will just end up being disapointed.

regular window tint wont work for 99-04 tail lights because the outside light is too curved. The overlays you see sold are vinyl that will shape around objects better than window tint.

im at work right now, when i get home i will send you a link to a website that sells the tint, and shows you a 10-15 minute video of how to do it. I was watching it the other night, Credit card Soap N water in a Spraybottle, and Heat gun.

Uhh i have 5 dollar walmart tint on my taillights, it looks amazingly good. Heres a pic (dont look at the one in my sig, thats just photoshopped because this picture isnt attractive enough to be a sig....anyway!) What i did was each of the 3 parts of the tail light seperately. measure width and height of the section and add 1 inch. Cut it out. Clean both the tint and the tail light with rubbing alcohol. Using hot soapy water, apply the tint. The soapiness will allow you to form the tint around the light. Flatten out the bubbles using a credit card or something. (Once the water evaporates, the soap will act as an adhesive.) After about 5 minutes, take a new razor blade (i used a stanley knife) cut out the area you want to keep. Repeat for each section. Its really not as difficult as the length of this little tutorial implies, i just wanted to be distinct. It looks absolutely no different than if you had someone professionally do it.
