Pinion Snubbers for 99 and up GT

RE: Pinion Snubbers for 99 and up GT
I think Roundman and/or Ob has it in their cars. I probably wouldn't worry about it unless you're getting a lot of wheel hop. Even then I'd probably go sub-frames/control arms before I did a pinion snubber. TO me, it seems kind of a drag race thing vs. a street car thing.

If I am not mistaken, I think I have a factory pinion snubber? Unless it is called somthn' else. Just by looking at it when it was on the hoist, it has been used because there is a clean spot on it from where it makes contact with the axle under WOT. maybe all sn-95's have them? my car oringinaly came with 3.27's. Maybe on the 99+ ford took them out. don't make much sense considering they upped the hp....

Thanks for the replies Acer and 97. I am getting wheel hop and a lot of spin off the launch. I know your year has them stock but they are not adjustable. I looked but my 99 does not seem to have any so I figured it may would be worth the small amount of cash. My 3.73's came in and are going in this week so Im really going to need more grab some kind of way.

Yep... I suppose it would make a nice addition to a suspension package. I know my car has one, non-adjustable, but it's there. I never really hear it working ,but I suppose that's a good thing.
A pinion snubber for $75 sounds like a good deal, but I'd do sub-frames just for the safety of the car.

Adjustable pinion snubbers let you move the rubber bumper part down closer to the the nose of the rear end to stop it from rotating backwards under hard acceleration at the track and they can be moved away for normal street driving. They are a cheap aid to prevent or minimize wheel hop, but I would also recommend subframe connectors and aftermarket control arms too as they all help make the chassis plant the tires better.
