Having trouble with my H pipe

Having trouble with my H pipe
I was gonna have an exhaust shop custom make me a H pipe then have them install it as well. I asked him for a quote on how much he thought it would be thinking it would be fairly cheap becasue right behind him it says H pipes 49.99and up. They said they can't do an off road h pipe because it is "illegal". So I said okay what about the Hi flows. He came out with 800$ WTF! yeah thats real close to 50 bucks. I know thats install and everything so I figure the Hi flow cats would be about 200 bucks cheaper that the o/r version so thats 600 bucks and no install is gonna be 450 bucks, follow me? How can I get a place to install an o/r midpipe? Just keep looking around for that right place to install it or slip them a little extra? I'll probably end up buying one since it will be a little cheaper than a custom made one.

keep looking around...usually the poor neighborhood mechanic shops will do it for no extra money and for pretty cheap...they dont really care much as long as they get business...so call around and ull find one...just dont expect high end nice mechanic shops to do it...

just do it yourself... i bought my pipe for 125 and did it in about an hour... its not to hard and you'll have the satifaction of building your pony rather than having it built... just my opinion...

Its not hard at all to install. Do a search on it, there were 2 or 3 good write up's last week on how to install a mid pipe.

I would love to install it myself but is that passenger side manifold bolt that hard to get out as some people make it sound? What is the best way to do it, put the whole car up on jack stands, just the rear, or front? Now I've heard about the extra long extention for the socket wrench and a swivel but is that all the tools you really need? Can I do it without air tools cause i don't have any.

Its not that hard. One of the passenger side manifold bolts can be a pain, but if you have the right tools and know what to expect before you start its not bad.
Heres a thread that tells you how step by step.
