Default Interior Resonance help

I have a mac catback and its not TOO TOO loud, I really like the sound of it, especially outside of the car, but the interior resonance gets kind of annoying. Is t here any way I can lessen this?? Would adding a catted prochamber make this interior sound LOUDER, or just keep it the same? Are there any brands that have still loud outside sound, but not so loud inside sound? Any help guys thanks.

There is no way to get rid of the interior resonance or drone. Almost all chambered mufflers like MAC and Flowmaster are going to drone at 2000 rpms. The Bassani is a chambered/straight thru hybrid muffler that does not drone at2000 rpmsbut has a deep sound close to the MAC but not as loud outside the vehicle. Most straight thru mufflers like Magnaflow, Borla and SLP will not drone. Hope this helps.

I have a PYPES catback with their Pro series muffler which is their quietest. 7 out of 10. It too has drone at 2K rpm's. I have added quieting tipps but no help. I may go with a Dynomax muffler as I had them on an '82 Vette and I don't remember that having drone but they were loud. A larger muffler will reduce the loudness/drone if a 20" long an be fit. I have not looked yet but Jegs has a 20" version for around $50. that is 4"x10"x20". I have tried carpet insulation under my back seat and trunk to no avail. I will not be trying another muffler until spring but please post any changes that resolve this issue as it is aggravating especially with a convertible. Thanks, mark

Bassani makes a baffle for the 4" tips that might take some of the sharp edge off the noise.$25?

Could work but it may just close the outlet down to a much smaller size. I am for sure changing mufflers in the spring. I got a nice list of flow from www.broaderperformance.com that flow benched a dozen mufflers for flow and the results may be surprising! mark I will ask them about sound.

Unfortunitly this is the price paid for this exhaust. You can dynamat the interior if you want to add the extra weight.
