Hey Zach (ZW99GT) is trying to talk me into going with VT stage 2 cams instead of comp cams. They look about the same price. Who has put them in and have you had to do any custom work? Do you like um?
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE my comps, but since you would have to modify some things in the shortblock, I just thought I would steer you another way. Seriously, I was just trying to steer you away from the 262's. You are going hardcore N/A, and you want more than a stage 1.

ive heard a lot about the vt cams, but i am personally a fan of comp cams. they have being doing cams forever. it also depends on what you want. whats the liftoneach one?
I am also a fan of comp. They have ALOT of experience. Theres nothing wrong with Comp. But if I had to do it again, I would go bigger Comps/ or VT 2's
Don't you have comp 270's? Those are equivalent to VT st 2's

If you want bigger then go crower...the ST2 crower is more aggressive then the VT st 2 and theres a ST3 crower that would be nice in a setup like yours.

I thought you sold your car to some chick in England, what happened to that? You can get VT cams directly from VT, I cant remember if I have seen them any where else. Just google vt engines, the website might even be vtengines.com.

I got mine along time ago from MPH, but if you can get em straight from VT for less go for it.

VT > comp all the way. I have heard numerous people complain not only about the comps having PTV contact, but also not being ground to as tight of tolerances as the VTs. VT specialises in the modular engine family. Theres nothing wrong with a comp cam for a 5.0 or pushrod engine, but VT is simply more specialised in 4.6L performance.

Check Comps lift/durration numbers for several different grinds. All of them have the same magic number for durration... VT's & Crower are grinded for best result per aplication...

Alright i talked with VT and it looks like the stage 2 will be perfect for my application and will make some serious serious power without having to flycut the pistons and they're the same price as comp cams but much more aggressive than then 262's[:'(]. So im gonna cancel the comp cams and go with VT's!

VT cams are comp. Comp even grinds them, as far as i'm aware.
