Your tranny is already very strong and would benefit from some internal upgrades that came on the 99-04 autos...The 05+ auto tranny guys are swapping to our 4R70W's because they can be set up to handle alot of power.

go to www.tccoa.com and read up on the trans 101 section...it describes everything about it and what to do for upgrades etc.

now if all you want is to swap in a built one and be done try these guys

all autos 96-04 i believe are AODE i don't know about the numbering stuff(like 4R70W's) but how much can the stock 1996 auto trans hold horsepower/torquewise?

its a 4R70W, AODE is the 95 tranny.

its not you...they list them together as the same thing almost everywhere.
