Default insurance for 16 or 17

Hey guys new to the forum. I really like the mustangs and im about to turn 16 and i need a good ride. you guys know mustang is never a bad ride no matter what age you are. my brother had 2 mustangs. 99 green GT auto loved it. traded it in for jetta 1.8t. he said biggest mistake he made. he wanted something that could go in the winter not just slide. then sold the jetta and got a 2002 black gt 5 speed. let me tell you that car for 260hp and 302 TQ goes like ghetto. well the passion for power goes down generations and now its my time to get a car. what do you guys think i would be paying for insruance on a 2002 or 2001 stang gt. i remember my brother paying 2500 a year but he was 22 and i tihnk like 2850 when he was 19. if you guys can tell me what you pay and if it would be worth it.

It's only worth it if you truly believe so.

We can't give you any sort of accurate estimate. Rates really vary between area's & agencies.

Easiest & best thing you can do is call places locally and get quotes.

I'm 20 and pay alittle over $740 a year full coverage on my 02 GT, but I have a clean record now & a safe driver plan.

Damn thats some good rates you got there Dan. I'm 18 with a 96 GT I only have liability and I pay $640 every 6 months. I also have a clean record and took driver training to get my insurance rates lowered.

Yeah, well it WAS 3600 a year. LOL...I paid my dues. But yeah, I do have kickass rates now, especially with full coverage!

I'm 19, 2000 GT, I pay about 1400 a year for full coverage. But it helps the fact that i play golf with my insurance agent... and i fix his computers for his business and home. So I'm getting off easy.

one way to save some money on the auto insurance is to go with higher deductibles on the collision coverage as this can really save some dough! I tend to go with a higher than state minimum liability also, but that's just me covering my own *** I guess! Low rates are one of the few benefits of being 55 years old! bwahahahahahaha
I still remember those outrageous rates when I was a teenager and was so glad when I turned 25 and they dropped about 50% or more and that's with driver's ed and good driver discounts included.

Those tickets will do the number on you every time there Joe! Just to make you feel even worse, back when I first bought my Stang I only paid $668 a year for full coverage with State Farm, but then again I was 38 years old at the time! LOL
