If your running on Streets.... Your launch should be VERY conservitive and light.

Drag Radials..... Lower your PSI to around 18 to 20, Do a very nice burn out.... Launch at around 2,000 to 2,500 rpm and feather the clutch making sure you grab all the way.

Slicks...... just dump it at 4 grand lol

do like a 3-4k rev but dont dump the clutch, slip it (if your on street tires).

just practice at lights and find the best rpm/slippage for your car.

Yeah, it is very hard to launch well on street tires. My 60' times suck the big one. Going to have to get better tires next time around, but they are $$$$$.

with dr's 3500-4500rpm slip the clutch(15 psi)

street tires 2krpm slipp the clutch and then get on full throttle and feather.

of course, do a good burnout before each.

oh yeah, and a warning, if launching with dr's at 4krpm or whatever, be weary of your rearend.

Gawd I hate burning out...... everytime I do it I just feel the money burning away from the tires and my rear brake pads getting thinner and thinner lol.

tires, yes, break pads? dont think so, your not using them, cept like 10%, only time your rear breaks are actually used is when you pull the e brake, other wise it's like a 80/20 or 90/10 ratio between front and rear breaks. but it's also a very good idea to keep an extra set of back wheels (maybe your old stock ones) for drag radials, and one set for your regular tires, things last longer that way.

On a warm day I can do some 3000-4000 launches on street tires on the street with minimal if any tire spin. I do have 275s though and I don't know how wide your tires are. At the track I couldn't launch at idle without spinning

I have 275's and I have to be really conservative with the throttle and slip the clutch as well to get a good launch. That was with my bald Falken Ziex's (street). I now have some all weather tires (can't do much in them). Well, I havn't really tried yet. I blew a sparkplug straight through the head on Wed. so it's been sitting in my driveway for a few days. Hopefully, I'll have the threads back in and have my motorcraft plugs in by tomorrow afternoon.

Then I can REALLY go test my launch with my brand new MGW short throw!!! Can't wait!

It's a fine art when you don't have the tires and suspension for it. I get worse traction at the track it seems than I do on the street.
