Default Spark Plug Gap

When buying new plugs, do you have to adjust the gap?
Is there an industry standard now?

Yep. Gotta gap 'em. Unless they specifically say on the package not to.

Ok thanks for the info.
I found out thegap on the factory AWSF32PMotocraft platinum plugsis 0.52"
I alsoread that s/c engines should use a smaller gap (approx. 0.35") Not sure ifit's true...but that's what the word is.

that's .052", not .52". Hahaha. You can buy a gapper from most autoparts stores, they usually are around the registers and run about 2 bucks.

If you are planning on incorporating forced induction, make sure to get the best plugs you can.

The recomended gap from Ford for a 2000 mustang gt is .054
I was in a hurry and my dad didnt have a spark plug gapper so I just put the plugs right in. I used the motorcraft ones and if your info is right Gumby then the plugs I put in are at .052 so I guess that I shouldnt really worry that I didnt gap them
