Default Less Clutch Travel?

Is it possible to make it so that my clutch travels like 1/2 as much? My clutch is the stock clutch and it catches in the last 20-25% of the pedal travel. My friend has a brand new Focus ZX3 and his clutch travels so much less.

Could I make it so that it will not travel as much? I either want it to start a lot closer to the floor or just travel less from where it starts now. I was thinking about making something that would stop my pedal, but I don't know how high I could set that without forcing me to ride the clutch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jmac

Try a steeda triple quadrant, Or get a adjustable clutch cable. Do both and with some playing around you can have it were you want.

Are you still running the original clutch?? Maybe it could also be replaced if it has had its miles on it...Idk my car has around 70K on it and my clutch doesnt grab till im more than 3/4 the way out of the pedal....I think its the clutch...Would our problems be mainly a clutch or just need to get an adjuster???? Thanks No thread jacking intended....

My car only had 13k miles on it. Clutch is absolutely fine. Catching that late is not a big problem. Just would be more comfortable to have shorter travel. Would it be possible to put a stop behind my pedal so that I cannot push it in as much? I just don't want it to force me into riding my clutch at all by not being able to push it in fully.

I dont know if this is just for cobras but neway. I had my clutch replaced because it was the same senario. When i got the new clutch it was in the same spot. It wouldnt engage until 3/4ths of the way up. But then i had a tripple hook clutch quadrant installed as well as a new cable. I had my mechanic adjust it in the right posistion and i lowered it. It now catches about 1/2 way in the peddal. when im hot rodding around it goes back up to 3/4 though.
