Default Clutch release. . .

Where does your guy's clutch release at. . .as in how far back do you have to let the peddle go before it kicks in. Mine is really high and every other mustang ive driven was really low. . more towards the floor but mines towards the top of the swing. I have a new king cobra clutch so idk if thats just how KC's are or what. Idk just always wondered.

It depends, if I am grannying it.. my release is SUPER low, however if I am heavy on the throttle or WOT, I release it pretty high. It all depends, but generally it's very low. I have the stock clutch.

Mine releases just like yours does ben. It is the stock clutch with about 13k miles on it. Never had a problem with it. Just catches high up. I would love it to travel less and catch lower hence my earlier thread. I can live with it, I would jsut like it lower.

I only have to press my clutch in about 3-4 inches to shift gears. The release is just ajusted to the top end. I kinda like it like that for fast shifting you dont have to worry about not pushing it down for enough.

you want it like this i believe, you dont want to have to floor the clutch, why the hell would you wanna do that, more clutch travel = more time. usually getting in first takes a lot of clutch but the other gears should only require you pressing the clutch half or 3/4 of the way, the last half is a void it seems eh?

yeah, but if it does that in 1st gear, that normally means theres a problem. my friends GT did it, and his clutch went completley dead at a random time one day, jsut started it, and had no clutch.

my clutch will grab other gears when im halfway down on it when im driving normally.

i would get it checked out.

you have an adjustable clutch quadrant... if you want to change where it is, mess around with it or buy an adjustable cable and non adjustable quadrant
