Bent Tie Rod?

Bent Tie Rod?
guys ive only driven my mustang a few times(97 gt) and the reason being is that it pulls extremly bad when your are driving down the road, it pulls to the right hard, i get under the car and look and the link that connects your wheels(Tie rod? center link?) is bent, the peice has the rubber ruffles near the neck of it where it goes into the bottom of the engine compartment(dont know what that part is called) as yall see im a dumbass on suspension things, so is that peice supposed to have a bend in it or will it need to be replaced? or does it just need an alignment? what is that peice called? i hope i gave enough details on it, but im pretty sure on the end is the tie rod end, so i would assume the bar that goes from that to the other side(to the other tie rod end) is the tie rod? but the right side of this tie rod is bend upward and the other side is straight, i googled pictures of tierods and some where bent like this so that why im asking, but all i know is the thing pulls really bad and is almost undrivable, thanks for any replies and sorry for my non-knowledge

RE: Bent Tie Rod?
i dont even have a camera, looking at the front of the car, its the first steering link that you see, the ruffles are like 3in long or so, im not sure what the link goes into, or rather what that is called, but its the bottom of the car, the link goes into some housing, the link goes from this housing to the wheel assembly where it connects to a joint(tie rod end?) ill just end up taking it to an oil change place that does that kinda work and have them look at it, i was just wanting to find out what that was so i could look up a price so i know how much to save for, thanks.

RE: Bent Tie Rod?
The outter tie rod is what connects your steering column to the wheels.
I've never heard of a "bent" tie rod. It's one of those things where it's good or it's shot.
lucky for you their cheap and easy to replace.I use a pitman arm puller that costs $25 at autozone
