Default Need Help Changing Rear Brakes!!!

Ok im trying to change my 2003 GT Rear Brake pads. heres the problem, for some reason the rear piston won't compress with C clamp. Anyone have this problem before?? am i missing something? I've changed the front several times and never had a problem...please help thx!

you need to turn the piston clockwise and put a lot of pressure on it for it to go back in, i had this problem about 2 weeks ago and i went to the local auto parts store and bought a tool that attatches to 1/4 socket wrench i believe and worked just fine...but i forgot the name of the tool...hope this helps

I'm sure you did but just to make sure - did you take the cap off the brake fluid reservoir?

Your rear pistons screw back in. Go to where you got the pads, they'll have to the tool to loan you all for the low low price of $0 - $5.

there is a special tool for this. You have to compress and turn at the same time. I'm sure you could rent/buy the tool somewhere.

The tool is called a brake piston caliper adjuster, or some form close to that. Go to autozone, they let you borrow it for free.

hhaa ya.. went to autozone and bought a tool for it.. like 10 bux got it changed.. it was still a pain. Thx all Forum helped a lot!
