I just got mine today, i think it has alot to do with your mufflers. I love the sound of it. It's loud but only if i get on it. I have Imco Mufflers.

I thought that around 2k rpm it sounds awesome. When you get on it, yes obnoxious is the word until you have a friend with Loudmouth II mufflers on who goes Sreamin by. My boy has those and it's unreal, makes mine sound like stockers!lol I have a hard to find STAINLESS STEEL O/R X-pipe for sale. It's Brand New and only been on my car for less than 100 miles. I painted it with High temp 1500deg. ceramic paint before I installed. Selling because I bought LT's and need a new X-pipe Fits all 96-04 shorty style!

Don't buy the off-road BBK x-pipe if you are putting it on a 4.6L(the 5.0 sounds and performs great). There is something wrong with the way it flows that causes a metallic rattle from 2500-3000 rpm. Trust me, i wouldn't pay 5 dollars for that piece of crap if I did it again.

i have same setup as 99stang, and i have turndowns, i love the sound, personally, i just love the raspiness, i guess is what you would call it.

oh yeah, i also have a bbk, and it doesnt make any "metalic" rattling noises at all.

in fact molly, my friend with a bassani o/r x, and stock muffler/tailpipes, makes that metallic rattling noise your talking about, i think it has mroe to do with the tailpipes, and their mounting.

I have o/r X with SLP original loud mouth exhaust...the one with only the resonator. It is LOUD..and I know the "metellic" sound you speak of!! I recently installed some JBA shorty headers and it actually is quieter. With a much nicer sound. When you get above 4 grand, it's pure music to my ears....

I have BBK LT's andO/R X and Flows catback. Here isa link to a vid of my car. You can hear how my setup sounds. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/b...a701429397.htm

I like it a lot and think it sounds pretty mean.
