If your moms Formula has an LT1 it must be running bad, and if it is an LS1 two cylinders must be out for you to think it is not that great.I am not trying to **** you off but, there is no way you have ever rode or even driven an LT1 or LS1 if you think a 97 GT even comes close in performace?
True. If it was a V8 Pontiac, it would have obliterated your Mustang, no question. I'm betting it was a V6. Even an LT1 will make short work of your Mustang.

Anyone ever consider the fact that maybe he was just going faster than normal? First of all there not racing... shes behind him. I know a lot of times ill turn off and go... but not even close to full potential.. but definatly out of the normal driving..

Everyone just assumes he was goign to full potential when she is... my bet was he just kinda took off fairly fast obviously not racing when shes behind him... atleast a real race if u wanna call it one.

Ok. Here is my take! The 97 GT would DEFFINATELY win!!!

In all reality, what ever the other car was, it wasn't faster than mine. He took the turn first and decided to take off. As soon as I noticed what he was up to, I did the same. (Yes I am the chick driving the car in this scenario). I am betting it was the Formula. No offense, but I don't think Formulas are all that great. My mom has one. I know that my car runs better than my moms. But anyway, to each their own! The true test would have been at the strip, not at a stop light when I didn't know that he was going to take off. Thanks for all of the info on Birds though!! I love to learn more about cars!!!
The Formula's are known to run quicker times than both the regular TA & WS6. [&:]

What's that matter? All TA's have had flip up's since the 1st year of the 3rd generation run.

I LOVE MUSTANGS!!!! But my friends got a 2000 WS6 T/A and wow did the kid we raced with his 2004 GT get a wake up call when he thought his mufflers and intake would make up for the 50-60 horse difference on my friends modded T/A.

ORIGINAL: Big5.0.13.7sec.

when we approached a trans-am (not sure of year.... but newer) and the older guy driving was going super slow like 30 in a 40.
It's called the 2nd generation. I'm not quite sure if you can read or not, so I quoted Big5.0's original post.
