Default tranny messed up!

hey guys when i am racing and i slam into 2nd it makes a loud klunk type noise almost like im grinding the gears but im not this only hapens in 2nd other gears are fine anyone know what this could be i tok it to ford b4 this started happening and they said i have a gear shaft leak? i dont know what the hell that is any information would be nice thanks.

Sounds like you have a leak at the tail shaft? It's a rather easy fix if you pay to have it done, shouldn't be more than $100.

As for the loud clunk, it's probably your transmission mount.

yea they said it would be $340 dollars at the dealer so it cant be expensive fix
and what do i need to do whith the tranny mount? and will that tail shaft leak my tranny fluid?

Could also be something to do with the u joint, too much play back there will give you a nice clunk when you shift hard. The seal is an easy fix and something you can do yourself in a few hours. It involves pulling the driveshaft, and replacing the seal.

u think since the seal is leaking im low on tranny fluid and could that cause the clunk when shifting. i also noticed that i can put it half way into 2nd without the clutch when im sitting still the other gears arent like this. should i switch to a short throw shifter?
