What size tire for this rim? (pic)

As you can see the stock 245/45s look very small on this rim. I'm not sure if it's the 8" or 9" but I'd like to go something wider, while at the same time not have it bulge in the middle and cause premature wear. Any opinions? I want to keep these rims by the way., I'd love to get a 10.5 for the rear but I can't afford new wheels at the moment., I just want a wider tires while at the same time fitting properly on the rim.

275/40 is the widest you should go. That's what I run on my stock 17's. Your's and mine are both 8" wide rims.

+1... if you want it to look better, lower it!

Are you sure 275 will not bulge? Since my wheel is 8" I hear it's too big check out this thread ( https://mustangforums.com/m_2570749/...tm.htm#2570928 ) ., I'm sure 275 will fit but I just hope it's not too wide of a tire for my rims. Oh and I don't want to lower the car because it's my DD and I like it a little higher, has more of the old muscle car look. If I was going rice I'd lower it. :P

I can take a picture of my rims with 275/40 and post them here in a few minutes...

Yes that would be great, thanks. I want to get 275 but some say it's too big for an 8" wide rim, and can cause premature wear, and have jittery handling.
