I have used synthetic for years but have never tried the super high end stuff like Royal Purple and Amsoil. Is Royal Purple worth the money or should I just stick with Mobil 1?? Also is 5w20 ok for a 2000 stang gt??
http://americanmuscle.com/royal-purp...motor-oil.html< is that a good price?

I tried the Motor Oil in my GT and didn't notice any difference. It felt exactly the same as it did before I put it in. I also tried the tranny fluid. The tranny fluid worked well. Shifting was a lot softer. It was easier to get in and out of gear.

BTW, I didn't vote, but If you're content with Mobile 1, stick with it.

i've tried royal purple, mobile one, and amsoil. For the cost and preference it's always royal purple for me. But mobile one is great also. I would just get one and stick to it.

i went from whatever the guy used before... to RP and now back to mobil.... quite frankly it's all up to you, either of the oils suggested will get the job done.

Thanks for the replies guys, so do you all think that mobil 1 and rp are the same quality? if so I guess I will stick with whatever is cheapest. So what weight oil do you guys use in a 99+ gt??

I use 5w-30 Amsoil, which is buy far the most economical of the oils you mentioned. They have the longest warrantied drain interval, which saves a lot of money and time.

Quality wise, Amsoil and Royal Purple are quite a bit better than Mobil 1. I'm not saying Mobil 1 is bad, it is just isn't in the same league as Amsoil and Royal Purple.
