Default Should I upgrade my brakes?

So I just got my black bullitts/Nitto 555s on and I love em....while at the mechanic he goes "so you have about 25% left on your rear and 40% left on your front brakes....

I had been looking at a few upgrade kits like the bullitt brakes upgrade kit....and they come with 13" slotted/drilled rotors, calipers and brake pads...front and rear....

Other than looking a lot better than an stock 03 GT's brakes/calipers/rotors....do these offer any increased stopping power for the price? I've done a lot of reading up on mustangs...but know very little about the brakes

so should I just replace the pads that I have (for considerably less money) or opt for the upgrade to the bullitt package?

With your power just do new pads, maybe upgade rotors to slotted and/or drilled in future

I would just do new pads as well and save your money towards something that will help with the power end of it.

i voted to just replace the pads as well. Is there any reason you would need to upgrade your brakes or is it just something you want to do

Upgrading to bullitt/cobra/mach 1 brakes are not as big of an upgrade for 99-04's as 96-98's... Because 99-04's have dual piston calipers whereas 96-98 only have singles.

will slotted and/or drilled rotors have any effect on stopping power though? I was looking at upgrading the brakes in the future anyways...but since I have to replace the pads relatively soon I figured why not upgrade...but if it wont do anything other than look pretty, ill just replace the pads and paint the calipers lol

Im going with PowerSlot rotors and Hawk pads. I'll have my PowerSlots Cryo dipped as well, should save a ton of money on rotor replacement IF if does what it claims.

Yes to a point, but having them slotted or drilled helps dissipate heat
