RE: catback flowmaster VS. mac
I have a friend with the Mac 2.5" catback and has already had to his mufflers twice in three years due to too much rust probably due to not being stainless steel.. Also, the techs at Thunder racing say their h pipes qualityare terrible compared to Bassani and Magnaflor x pipes durability.

Why do you think Mac 2.5 inch catback are always the cheapest at vendors like lmperformance, stangmods, and a local shop Thunder Racing? Mac being 299.99 while all other ranging from 399.99 to 899.99. Their quality lacks to SLP, Flowmaster, Borla, Bassani, and Magnaflow. You pay what you get for. Don't get me wrong Flowmaster is probably just a little better in quality, but Mac plain sucks compared to Borla, SLP, or Magnaflow...

Lets see, on macperformance.com I see the non-stainless version listed as $389 and the stainless version as $469. Oh, well that's comparing apples to apples, 2.5" system with 3.5" tips. You can get the non-stainless with only 3" tips for $329. That's all MSRP of course though.

Of the two you listed, I would most definitely get Flowmaster. Although, if it were up to me, I wouldn't get either one. Flowmaster is EVERYWHERE and is way overated I think. They make the exhaust sound like it's bellowing out of a hollow tin can. It can sound decent, just can't get rid of that tinny effect.
And as far as MAC goes... I wouldn't allow that garbage anywhere near my vehicles. MAC is complete, utter trash.
