Default catback flowmaster VS. mac

just got a 96 gt auto..with 128,000 on it, car runs great pulls hard, impressed me considering this is my 10th mustang but 1st non-fox and first experience with a mod motor..so to my question, the only performance mod i wanna do for now is a cat back exhaust i have only used flowmasters even got one on my grand cherokee...but i see the mac is a similar type system..i've heard the magnaflow and i dont care for it's sound....so anyone used or have thoughts of which might be better for 4.6 2v..mac or flowmaster as far as sound, power, better mileage and reliablility of the system. the car is primarily my drive to work car about 100 miles per day but eventually will get a off road and blower when i return my jeep(lease) and buy something small for going to work at the end of this year....

I like the Flowmaster better due to the chambered muffler and more aggressive low rumble sound. I hear Mac catbacks are cheaper qualityand don't last as long as other brands. I due regret getting the x pipe with chambered mufflers though, it's kinda raspy. I should of got catted h pipe for the deep low sound.

I might just change out the chambered muffs and get some straight through to solve that raspy sound problem.

It's my understanding Flows and Macs are virtually identical in sound, price, performance (read: NONE) and quality....

I have a MAC catback, no midpipe or headers on my 01 GT and I love the sound. Being its just a catback, you really cant tell much increase in performance, although I'm sure its just a few rwhp. But I sure like the sound, I dont have stainless, and its been on there for about 3-4 years and theres only slight rust around the muffler edges. But you can also buy a stainless one, which will fix that problem.

im loving my macs. I was a flowmaster fan until my dad started using mac on all his cars, street or strip, so thats why i havem. They are a little cheaper than flows I beleive, and the sound is a little more "bubbly" compared to flowmaster, its all in what you want really....

I'm mainly talking about the quality of the mufflers because the seem to rust fairly quick unless you get the stainless steel.
