Default gt hi-flow intake package?opinons

rpmoutlet advertises a package that includes the accufab 75mm t/b w/ plenum and the 85mm Mac straight shot intake for $579.00-they say that it will give you about 35 hp. what do you guys think? im thinking that it souds solid... thanks
-i cant see a better way to spend 600 bucks, bbk ltb's would run you about 400 but then install would be an arm and a leg, and you might be able to find pi heads but with install and the aftermarket intake you are spending close to a grand, right? feel free to throw your 2 cents in...

Waste of money unless you plan on opening up your exhaust. Sure you can feed it more air, but you won't be able to push it out any faster, thus no gains and possibly a slow down...

I would imagine a full PI purchase & install would total around $1800-2200. I think for your car, it'd the best mod you can do.

Definitely get a better exhaust first. It can be done for relatively cheap. I got an off-road X-pipe and Flowmaster cat-back for about $420. If you want Magnaflow it would be about another $100. Then do a gear swap for another few hundred bucks. That will make a huge difference in your get-up-and-go, and should tide you over until you can afford a PI head swap. FYI, check ebay for PI heads because they are on there all the time and can usually be had with really low miles for between $300-$400, and the PI intake with aluminum crossover is at Summit Racing for $199, so for about $600 plus the price of gaskets and install it wouldn't be too bad.

I had the Mac Straight Shot installed yesterday on my 2003 GT 4.6 with a CL Plenum and Mac Throttlebody. My exhaust hasn't come in yet. The car feels like it has gained 30 HP at least with stock exhaust. I can't wait until I get everything done, but it has made a major difference with only the three mods I mentioned. Mustangwarehouse has it for $209
