Default tranny fluid

Tried doing a search, but to no avail... Can somebody tell me the fluid capacity of a 04 GT Manual Trans? (3650)? I'm about to change it out to RP. Any tips/pointers?? Thanks guys.

3.25 is correct. I think it's closer to 3.37. Either way, buy 4qt and you'll have plenty.

I was told to add the fluid thru the shifter after removing the boot. It's alot faster and easier than pumping from under the car.

Well. you either remove the shifter bezzel, boot, handle, and shifter, and fudge up the gasket and then have to put it all back together again. Or you can use a small pump to pump it in the fill hole and stop when it spills out the same hole. I filled it throught the fill hole when I was changing the clutch, and it was pretty easy.

thanks guys.. just bought 4 quarts of RP synchromax. I also am doing it on my buddies lift, so as long as the fill plug isnt too hard to get to, I'm not going to bother to pull the shifter.

I also did mine on a lift, and i really didnt realize that...thats a good point. If you dont have access to a lift, it might be easier to just pull the shifter (and put in a short throw while youre at it). But yeah, with a lift, its a piece of cake. The fill plug just uses a 1/4 drive rachet (just the actuall ratchet, not socket on it) and is simple to get at it.
