I used krylon fusion from wal mart. Its meant for things like plastic. It worked fine for me, no prep work other than cleaning the pieces with some dishwashing soap to get any oily substances off. Mines not an exact match, but its so close that you would have to take the piece off and hold it right up to the paint to be able to tell.

SAND SAND SAND thats all i cant tell you from experience. a really fine grit, just roughen it up. 2 coats of primer and like 3 coats of paint, on top of that throw a coat of clear and u should be good.

I used the fusion stuff from wal-mart as well. I sanded it with real fine sand paper to rough it up, then cleaned it with alcohol, primed it and painted it. Not to hard as long as you sand and clean it.

Can you tell me what grit(s) you used? Also, what is 'priming', and how do I go about doing it?

priming is like a prep coat, it makes everything one color/tone, so that the color of your finished product is even and doesnt have any light/dark spots. also helps the paint stick.

I wet sanded my parts, primed, wet sanded then 3 coats of single stage paint. Don't use that interior paint at wall mart it will look like crap. Use a real paint sprayed from a gun not a can.
