Default New to mustang's what tricks can i do for HP ?

Well im new to the forums and new to mustang's
I just bought a 01 GT ( it's automatic but i plan on shift kit / torque converter in the future )

Anyway just wanna say hi to you guys im new to the forum and i will be posting / browsing . on to the question's i wanted to know if there are any tips or little tricks that you can do to mustangs to make the HP they have more efficent or maybe increase the HP that isnt to expensive ? First on my list is to remove the intake silencer and replace the filter with K & N. anything else like certain spark plugs or tune-up parts ? i plan on doing the tune-up this week so what should i look out for / stay away from ? thanks in advance ( and i have been searching forums just not getting the answer's i been looking for )

Hey welcome, there isnt a whole lot you can do to the 2v for cheap that will get you much over 250rwhp besides basic bolt ons, I would do gears as one of my first "bolt on" mods you will feel the biggest diff with those. The best thing to do would be a supercharger but that is a little higher in cost. Goodluck

just use stock motorcraft plugs, run some injector cleaner.. How much do you have to spend on performance? In my opinion, bolt ons are worthless on our cars. Try to save for a supercharger or some nitrous. 4.10 gears!

+1 on the gears. i would recomend 4.10s after that i would get your exhaust done. long tubes are your only major power gain, but you want your car sounding nice right? just my .02

I'd go do some 4:10 gears and than look into a nitrous system. With that alone your in the low 13's.

If you have your foot in it all the time you will. All driving the same, it will not be THAT bad

If your driving a Mustang I hope you didn't get it for mileage cause you made a big mistake. 4.10's aren't that bad and well worth it. You might notice 1mpg different dependent on your driving habits.

Yea unfortunately there are no "tricks" you can do to 2V mustangs to grab some HP. Not that there are tricks for any cars, but some respond better to mods than others... and the 2V mustang is not one that responds well. If you are looking for some serious HP, dish out some $$..

Great cars though, have fun with it
