Is This B.S.???
Alright check this out.
I went to the track for test and tune over a month ago at this place called US 41 in Indiana. So i pay my 20 bucks and go to staging. my buddy in his built 85' el camino ss is in front of me getting his car inspected as usual, then the dude comes to my car. before he even opens the hood, he tells me that i cannot run antifreeze in my car and that every track in the nation bans the use of antifreeze. (My buddy has been to that track several times and nothing was said about this rule.) the guy lets us run b/c he said alotta people that nite were runnin' anitfreeze. i get home and tell my dad and he tells me something is weird about this. my family rented out that track a few years ago and my dad ran his 69' camaro w/ antifreeze as did everyone else. I then make some phone calls...everyone i talk to say they run antifreeze every week there and were never once questioned about it. They basicallly told me to tell the tech inspector to pound sand next time. If this rule is legit, when was is put into effect, b/c its not really being enforced regularily there? The tech guy said i gotta run water wetter, but you cannot put 15 qts of that stuff in your car safely...am i right?? What are my alternatives. i really wanna go to the track again, but they claim a $500+ fine for dripping antifreeze on their track ( but my car don't drip ). I am new to this rule so please tell me all you guys can about this.
Thanks alot, Nick

For one.
Antifreeze ISNT illegal!
you need a Catchcan, and can't be leakin all over the place.
But that should be fine.
And as for Water Wetter it's an additive you add in with your water/antifreeze mix
To help keep things cooler...
Stuff works great tho, use it everytime I flush my radiator.
Keeps things nice n cool
Oh and btw, definatly go tell that tech guy to screw...
That's BS
"You can't run Antifreeze"... My ***[:'(]

RE: Is This B.S.???
yah Ob, i thought it was bs too. but do i REALLY need a catch can? My car has never leaked any fluids whatsoever since i've owned it. I mean i've seen people run their mini vans at the strip before and i doubt they are set up for racing... they just bring em' to the track and run.
And yah, i put a bottle of water wetter in my car when i flushed it last month and one bottle is defenitely enough to get the job done.
I can't beleive that they'de lie about this, but maybe since they never saw me there racing before, they were trying to take advantage of me? I need to be 100% sure of this "rule" being a falacy before i take the 45 minute trip to the track and make myself look like an @$$ trying to dispute it.

I have never heard of such bull****. It sounds like some asswads were hoping you'd drop antifreeze and pocket your money. That's absolutely absurd.
I'd go find where the guy lives and take a dump on his doorstep.

Your NOT supposed to run antifreeze at the track, your "supposed" to run water only - but the rule isn't usually enforced on test n tune nights. Nowadays tracks are opening with the promise that they will get kids off the streets from racing so they are doing all they can to relax the rules... like helmet rules, antifreeze rules, cage rules for convertables, etc.

RE: Is This B.S.???
lmao, nice suggestions guys [sm=smiley36.gif].
Man, this track seems to be totally opposite. They put us thru the antifreeze bull, then they tell my buddy that a bolt fell off his car during staging and that oil was leaking out. They tell him he can't race anymore that night. The bolt was blue and my buddy earlier this year put his 355 in the car and painted it all orange. We let the car run in the parking lot for about an hour and NOTHING leaked. It hasn't even leaked since that day. The bolt clearly wasn't from his el camino. That night was unreal. Now, i'm really wondering if i should take a dump on that homo's his doorstep and then burn him alive...
