Hemispherical 2V engine in a 99+GT. Don't get much better than that. I like my 4.6 though, and i wouldnt mind putting in a 5.0 stroker after several thousand miles.

302 man
Yeah, the 99+ have more power stock, but Foxes are just so damn good lookin
Cheap to mod, and Light too.
Tho, My GT is only 100 some odd pounds lighter than a 99+.
Oh well

see i wuld go with 94-95 5.0 if i culd do it again, becuz i love the 94-98 body style, and ill jus be a broken record but, they cheaper and easier to modify.

I like the newer body styles, but I dont know.. the fox bodies are nice.. I'd trade my 96 in for an old 5.0 anyday.

I'd go with the 4.6... I love the newer body style as opposed to the fox body any day.

I test drove a stock 5.0 before I bought my car. It was ok but I didn't like the powerband in it. I like the 4.6's powerband better (just need some 3.73s). All of the people around here swear by 5.0 becauses it's a few cubes bigger. One guy said that I'll run a best of 16.2 with my 96 just because I have a smaller engine. I'll show him otherwise.

t3000.... ohhh hell yea ur gonna show him... i dont know if u have an auto or a manual... but the 96's have been known to run low 15's... so i say go to the track and make plenty of copies of ur time slip and rub it in as much as u can hahaha. i personally like the 4.6, i might be partial bc i have one tho

hey t3000, i have the same exact car you have, black 96 gt, f***ing rocks dont it? u gotta get those windows tinted though, i forget what i tinted mine to but at night time and even during the day, driving through town or what not, its looks so stealthy and deadly same wheels and everything man, i love black stangs, and hey try i did this and i think you might like it, gives it a better look too with bigger piupes. i cut about 12 inches off of the tailpipes and put on some 3 in pipes onto it, and it did change the tone of the exhaust, little deeper for some reason...and hey, w/e any of these guys say on here, your 96 isn't a slow dog we might just have some recessive genes
