its normal, you want your car to be cooloer, you take off when your fluids are circulating and have warmed up after a 2-5 min period. you dont just start rip out and get on the gas cause you asking for damage. Especially on cooler days let it warm up 5 min then let on the gas slowly to get your oils all working and heated up! but when your car is cooler its better

warming up a car is leftover from carbs. you're just wasting gas now. let it warm up for 20 seconds to get the oil moving and you're good to go. your fuel injectors are controlled by a computer, not the environmental conditions around it.

i have an auto, i keep o/d off while its warming up which helps, i keep rpms around 2,000 until its half way warm, then a few stop lights and decent acceleration I'm warmed up, takes me about 1-5 miles depending on the temp of the day, varying from -10 to 100

Mine takes a long time too but I don`t have it out that much in the winter. You can always install an engine block heater to keep the coolant warm overnight so you have some heat when you start it in the morning. That will help it warm up a little faster as well.

I usually let it warm up for 2-3 min then I baby it until it reaches somewhat normal operating temp, and the oil has a chance to thin out. Then I have fun.
Remember the temp gauge is the WATER temperature, not the oil temperature. Because oil is thicker than water(duh[&:]) it takes oil a bit longer to heat up.
