Default to get a 99+ ecu or not?

ok heres the deal, im running a cop conversion on my 96 now and i just got a 99+ engine wiring harness cause i needed the cop connectors off it. well before i chop it up i was thinking i could get a 99+ ecu and just swap the entire wiring harness. whats stopping me is id have to get the new computer retuned for my blower and such, and i dont believe i could use the current tune on my xcal2 for obvious reasons. so basically im just looking for someone to convince me to buy a new pcm. so besides individual timing for each cylinders, what other upgrades did they make on the newer computers?

I think you should be able to install the tune on to a new ecu. I'd call your tuner and ask him.

99 Ecu is connected to the pats system and the gauges, might want to make sure you really want to do such a change over, also no guarenty the harnesses will even match your other wiring harnesses

this is true, the ecu harness may not be correct. i guess it would be easier to just rewire the cop to parallel and cut the connectors off the new harness. only cost me 40 bucks for the harness, and im sure ill need the hundreds of spare connectors eventually.
