Default question on engine type

I am looking to get the pi swap but i see all this stuff about windsor and romeo engines or whatever how do you tell which you have.

The difference doesn't matter so far as a PI swap. The only (real)difference is in the block. Both engine's heads will bolt to a NPI motor.
