so my mechanic is putting in my 4.10's for me tonight.. should be done around ten or so. just thought i would share the good news. im so happy, the only bad thing is having to break it in.

how many miles does it take to break it in?

Instructions usually tell ya,,that came with the gears,,but most need a couple or 3 ,of heat cycles (20 to 30minute rides ) and a cool down of at least 30 minutes(inbetween)......Alot of people stated "be easy on them for at least 500 miles..." ..I've installed more gear sets them I can remember and have had no problems if you heat cycle them right.... and then run the **** out of them afterwards.then again,,I have a pinion depth guage setup and back lash tool also. and set them up right...no guessing..

3 heat cycles, 20 mins cool down each time & they will be ready to take a beating!

so for a heat cycle run u just cruise for 20 min or so. but how slow do u have to go.
