Default Low Oil Light Help

I changed my oil today, and now the low oil light is on? It has good pressure.I put 5 qts in it.
Any suggestion would help.

Thanks but Ibought ahigh capacity oilfilter and needs 1 pt of oil more(lol)

I believe the 96-97s take 5 qts normally

The 4.6's take 6 quarts...trust me. Check your capacities in your owners manual. The filters on our cars take almost a quart by themselves...so yes you are technically low on oil. Interestingly i saw a write up on drag cars here a while back that stated they actually see fractionally better times with running it low on oil, or by using a dry sump because of less drag on the crank...makes sense.

Thats what a windage tray is for. I know you're not advocating this but just incase any newb has a question; running with low oil is NOT recommended.
