CAMS!!! HELP!
Hey guys. well im deciding whether or not to supercharge my car or get some nice lopy cams. If i go supercharger it wouldnt happen for another year but if i do cams i can do it now.. its on a 98 mustang cobra with these mods-4:10 gears, stage II clutch, short shifter, intake, headers, h-pipe, flowmaster 40's... i was wandering if some nice cams will be a bit of a diff. in performance with the following mods but i will add a supercharger down the road with the cams. let me kno wut you think.

Sure, cams will make a difference now, and they'll sound good too, but if you're going to SC later then I say just wait because you'll just end up swapping cams out for blower cams then. It wouldn't make sense to do that job twice.
By the way, nice looking car. Are those black chrome cobras?

Blower cams now (when you're looking at sc'ing your engine in a year) would prolly be a bad idea. The difference between blower cams and NA cams is your lobe centers and duration. The SC cams have a wider lobe seperation and longer duration, to promote better cylinder filling (with boost). They'd run on your NA car, and probably give you some power, but not as much as a good NA cam. If you want power now, and are willing to do the cam job twice (which isn't really a big deal on these motors), I'd say get the NA cams now, save your pennies for an SC and cams, then do everything when you have the money. When you get the SC down the road, you can sell your NA cams (as long as they're in good shape), for a good fraction of what you bought them for.

RE: CAMS!!! HELP!
You can run blower cams now and not have any issues. I know several people who have and are still doing it. One guy ran Crower st 2 Blower cams in his NA 2V and gained 30rwhp...he probably picked up another 30 when he went blown. You won't be using the cams to their full potential being NA but you won't hurt your performance either. If you are definately going blown and have the itch to do cams then get the blower cams so your not pulling some NA cams out in a year and losing money when you sell them.
