how do i remove the water pump on my car, i have the pulley off and the 4 bolts holding the pump off. the pump will not slide out.. is there a special trick in doing this?

Mine was stuck alittle....tap tap with a rubber mallet did the trick....has a o-ring for a gasket....

where would i tap it, like on the side? or should i take that tube out of it on the back and tap it there?

Just tap the partwhere the pulley goes on....tap towards the front of the motor....don't beat, it tap.it...should come out..

I meanttap from the front of the waterto the front of the car...not towards the motor...

worked perfectly.. thanks man.. waterpump is now on the new motor

one more question though.. does that rubber gasket need to be replaced?

yes don't chance using the old one no need to save a couple dollars when you engine costs thousands not worth the chance

Well,,should prob replace it,...You could add some blue RTV around it,,and it should seal up....or just put a new o-ring on it...Being a new motor,I might even go as far as just replacing the pump....When I did my S/C ...my pump looked original,,but wasnt leaking,,and just decided to pitch it in favor of a new one...was about 40 bucks...my cost for a new one not a re-man...Laters...
