it shouldn't whine unless they didn't shim it properly.

I'm really lookin into some gears 4.10...or at least 3.73...but I don't really trust any shops in my town to do it. I guess a road trip is in.

The gears in my truck are Reider Racing, not Motive - my bad. I had a few guys look at them after the second install. Said they didn't look like they were burnished in properly. Whatever. They whine around 45 to 50 mph and I don't want anymore of that.

Sounds like FRPP is the way to go. Where's the preferred place to buy them and the install kit?

stick with ford racing... dont be cheap.. spend the extra 20 bucks and get the good stuff, and it should only whine if the install is fugged up
nothing wrong with motives, richmonds (even tho they are straight cut) etc, motive actually makes fords gears

Thanks for the feedback. FRPP 4.10's it is. But not that fast. My wife is finally taking the kids to grandma's this weekend so I can get that 125 shot installed. No matter how good it looks in the living room it'll look better in the trunk and under the hood.

Then gears...

I'm an old bowtie guy taking chit from buds for buying this Ford. I'd like to show them something but the competition is probably too steep! If I get lucky I might get one kill, but likely I'll get smoked thrice.

I went to a trans shop that has been around since the early sixties. I figured they had done this install once or twice. Cheapest price often isn't the best. By the way I used 3.73 svt gears. No noise. Noise will evetually become smoke.
