I say give it a shot, the system is pretty inexpensive compared to others. SLP will make your car sound pretty damn loud and VERY agresive. People say it sounds like the muscle car of old. And you shouldnt have too much trouble chaging out the muffs if you really wanna.

I've heard the clips of the slp setup and have heard it in person on a '97 GT. Not sure what he had for a midpipe and headers, but I know he had the slp loudmouth setup and it was loud to say the least. I didn't like the way it sounded though, I mean I like loud exhaust, but more of the deep and mellow tone, like the flow 40's. The loudmouth setup was really raspy and in-your-face type sound, very aggressive and loud. It definitely caught my attention driving by because it's different sounding than the average GT out there. You probably know about the site, but mustangexhaust.com has some good clips where you can compare the different catbacks. Check them all out, the slp setup wouldn't be my first choice...

Heres the thing, these cars arent like the muscle cars of old. They sound raspy becuz thats the way the engine sounds opened up. Put some Lts, catless midpipe and a galsspack type muffler on a 4.6 and compare it to an opened up big block.

Get it, I have it on mine, and love them every bit. The only other one I was considering was the Dynomax Ultraflow. I went with mine for power, but the sound is awesome as well.

i've got the slp's on my 04 GT. i love em. they sound really good in lower rpm. when you hit around 3500, it kinda drowns out though. still sounds hella good though. i gotta order a new catted x and it shall be complete.

All I can say is I use to have them on my car, key words use to. I put the cat backs on my car and boy were they loud. To me they did'nt sound like a muscle car it sounded like a NASCAR vehicle. I was also running a Mac offroad H-pipe. I kept them on the car for about a month thinking they would grow on me but nope I was ready to get them off. I have the Flowmaster American Thunder cat-backs and I love them, they sound like a real old time muscle car. But all in all its whatever floats your boat on sound, some guys like the load raspy sound some don't. I suggest you find a stang with them on and listen to them. But make sure the h or x-pipe is the same set up as yours because it will make a difference in the sound. Good luck. "STANGS FOREVER"
