Default Anyone have 3.90 gears???

Does anybody have 3:90 gears? I don't want 4:10's because I don't wanna hear my engine scream on the highway and kill my gas mileage. I don't wanna have to ship into 2nd before I clear the intersection. My friend says not to get 3:73's and go the happy medium with the 3:90's. I have 3:27's stock right now on my 97!

yea Im in the same boat, not sure if I should go with 3.73's or if the extra money is worth the 3.90's. Wish I knew someone who has driven with both of them and that could comment on the difference, because I dont think their is much difference between them, buy I dont know.

The most difference you'll see between 3.90's and 4.10's is in top gear. Even then you'll only see 100 rpm difference. In each lower gear the rpm difference will be less and less as you go down to first gear.

Let that sink in...

Then decide.

Yeah. I want it all top speed and low end pull, but who doesn't. I didn't know if anyone knew a link where I could see what my rpms would be at 80mph with either gear set. I know there used to be one, I just can't find it?

works great. Thanks so much! The diff. between 3:73's to 3:90's is about 2400rpms at 80 vs.2575rpms and about 2710r's with 4:10's. and at 150mph it's nearly 5414r's..lol I think I'm goin with the 3.90's at 5150rpms @150..hehe

3.90s are not a bad gear IMO, most go up to the 4.10s becuase FRPP doesn't make a 3.90... like me
