Yes it does. I was hoping it was a valve or something in the head but after recording it I think it could be a rod bearing.

It 2000 GT. Not sure what went wrong yet I was out testing it out and it started to run a little rough and i saw blue smoke coming from the passenger side tail pipe. When I got home I noticed the tapping sound. There is oil on the #5 plug.

Ouch that sucks! The knock is really bad, unfortunately it sounds like a bust lifter/valve or a rod bearing. The part that puzzles me is the smoke out of only one side of the exhaust. If it was a rod bearing, I'd think it would smoke all the way out both sides. Good luck on getting it fixed.

I put in a thicker oil which stopped the smoking but the tapping is still there. It is not there the first 30 seconds or so after the car has set for a day.

It's gotta be a busted valve/lifter, pull the cover off the side that was smoking and look around. It's the only way to tell for sure. It sounds like a push rod engine when the valves are REALLY out of lash.
