My 96 Cobra had a crush sleeve fail. I replaced it, the bearings and some raceways. Gears were good and not damaged. On the pinion, I had a hard time getting the bolt on, but I checked it serval times to ensure it was not cross threaded.

I drive the car and the noise is gone, except now, whenI let off the gas it has a vibration/ noise that I can't explain. My thoughts were the I screwed up and didn't get the driver shaft tight, but it was good. Is there a possability that I didn't get the pinionbolt torqued down enough?

Definitely sumthing to do with the rear gears. Id tear it back apart and check all your backlash and reshim.
