Temp. Sender Location??

Can someone please help me locate the factory water Temperature sender location on a 2002 gt? Yes, I am wanting to install a better gauge but cant figure out were to install the new sender.

i think it is on the aluminum cross over right behind of the gosse neck but i might be wrong because some of the 4.6 had two sending units one for the guage and one for the ecu *don't flame if im wrong*
