Default Budget street suspension

Alrighty, like the title of this thread states, what would be a good budget suspension system? I have been looking into the mm coil over kit but i have been feeling more and more like that is overkill and that i can spend the money in other areas.....

anyways what kind of
Springs:
Shocks/Struts:
CC plates:
LCA:
Panhard Bars:

and is a front sway bar necessary for a dd car?

right off bat i can say that the stock tokico on my car are pretty nice so
http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/m...y_Code=BULLITT

LCA - maximum motorsports
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Maxim...spagenameZWDVW

you wont really need panhard bar on street suspension YET id say personally get used to top 2 mods and add subframe connectors before panhard
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/STEED...80391649QQrdZ1
or maximum motorsports

If your looking for a true budget setup I would get the first link he posted (the bullit stuff) and these:

http://blueovalindustries.bluekeyinc...ts.php?pid=614

With this:

http://blueovalindustries.bluekeyinc...ts.php?pid=626

That would basically upgrade everything on the car, plus put subframes on it for stiffening. I am running these subframes and the control arms will go on soon so I can give you the results of those, but several others have ran em and love em.

hrmms I do a bit of twisties when I'm with the car club here, and I'm looking to spend about 1-2k for suspension just wondering for a mostly street app if the MM coil over is overkill? any alternatives to the bullit kit? looking for a in between, something better handling than the bullits but nothing over the top like auto x'ers

Rofl, 1-2K is not a budget suspension setup man.

The control arms are still good for you unless you want to spend alot more on them and get adjustable ones.. IMO a waste of money.

You will want to go with an adjustable setup on the shocks/struts. Here is what I just bought:

http://modularpowerhouse.com/index.p...baeb53894db133

The springs are pretty much up to you.. all that really makes them different is the drop and the spring rate. For a road race I would stay away from anything like a "drag launch" spring and just get a general lowering kit.

If your into road racing I would look into the bullitt brake upgrade kit as well. Brakes are one of the most important parts of a road race car, but unless you want to get serious (1000+)the bullitts are the cheapest/best route to go.

The coilover setup is a big improvement but expensive as well. I don't have personal experence with it so someone else will have to answer if it will fit your needs.

if you want a good coilover kit you just need to buy compatible shocks/struts, do upr fronts 219.99 and rears Modular mustang racing299.99. Then your looking at another 200-300+ for shocks struts, c/c plates etc. What is your budget? I did all mine for around 1k

If you have your heart set on spending a butt load on suspension, then go with the Bilstein setup. From what I hear, they are about the best suspension parts you can buy for a mustang. And, they have that nice little lifetime warrenty. Here's a link: http://www.americanmuscle.com/bilste...age-94-04.html

But, if you want a good suspension setup, i would go with the bullit stuff. It's inexpensive and they make your mustang handle quite well. My buddy has those shocks and struts on his Mach 1 and it handles like a dream! I actually am planning to put on this set: http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=G&Prod uct_Code=M5400A&Category_Code=BULLITT tomorrow. I would get that set and then get the upper and lower control arms, bushings and sub frames with the rest of your money. Just my opinion, though

Aereon, for a budget street car based on handling within $1500 trust me when i say the bullitt suspension, full length subframes and MAYBE lower control arms.... honestly though id suggest to you (if i was in your case) get the suspension, do the subframes and tires (noticed your sig, dont know how much power you put out or sizes you have on but ive found it better for handling to have same size all around and light weight tires...)and they do make all the difference in handling (i can tell you from personal experience) and of course your skill, only do 1-2 mods at a time, drive it around and get used to it for a few weeks until you know the limits then slowly add to it;I say this with your safety/goals in mind.
cheers[8D]
