Default warranty question

about 2 day ago the rear differential started whining and howling as well as vibrating pretty badly...took it to the dealership, said my pinion was bent, they wanna put 3:55's in it now because they're "factory". the 4:10's were on the car when i got it. since they aren't OEM 4:10's, do you guys think my extended warranty will cover the work? also, the dumbass who installed the 4:10's did a ****ty job.[/align]

doesnt matter, say: "if ford sold me the car/warranty as the car is then they will stand behind the sale and honor the warranty" or something like that...word it different though

Do you think the guy that installed the 4.10 gears is at fault for the damage of the rear differential? Don't they have some kind of warranty for their installation?

the original warranty through ford expired at 36k i think. i bought an extended warranty through MAPS. the tech who looked at my car said the gears were not installed by a dealer but by some little "fly by night" shop. The warranty company is gonna know that 4:10's arent from the factory, and if they send an inspector out to look at it..im toast.

well gears arent that expensive if worst comes to worst just buy them and let them cover installation but i do think they should cover it and if eventually they do say the will when you get the car back make sure it drives like it did and make sure they didnt put the 3:55's back in

Take if from me I'm a insurance adjuster at one of thesethe extended warranty companies. The extended warranty does not cover for any modification that are not OEM. Even if you bought the car the way your pretty much SOL. And if they send a inspector and see that the differentialis "modified" they will deny the whole repair. They even deny engine repairs even if they have a cold air intake. The inspectors that we sent take pictures of the whole car, and they know there stuff as well so they know when a car is suped up. I know it sucks I have an extended warranty on mine and i hesitate on putting alot of the bolt on modifications for fear of getting repairs denied on engine or trans claims. Good luck though I suggest offering a 6-pack to the inspector he might just approve the repairs! LOL
