Default Is something wrong with my IRS? HELP

I've been looking at some vids on the internet, and something kinda jumped out at me. I watched a bone stock 03 cobra messing around on the streets. He did a brake stand, spinning badly on the 1-2 shift, doughtnuts, etc. No wheel hop what-so-ever.

Why cant my car do that? I cannot break traction in any way, shape, or form without hop. No burnouts, no spinning, no nothing. I thought IRS was just like this, and it sucked. Maybe there just something busted in my rear or something?

At the track(its not the first time I've noticed) I tried to do a break-stand. Not happening, hopped instantly. Is it supposed to hop when you aren't moving?

Maybe the Cobra had a solid rear swap?

you think the 400-500 hp cobras you see have the trouble you have with a mere 340 hp?

I'm sure under their mod-list contains a few mods to prevent wheelhop, maybe not, but with 100-150 more hp than you, its just plan easier to getboth tires rolling equally, so I guess that would help eliminate the hop.

I'm not 100% sure on anything I said, cause I know jack about irs, lol.

*edit* and when i say mere, its only mere to their 450-500, lawl. just like my stock 220ish is a mere 220 to your 340 []

I believe the IRS in the 03/04 has been updated and strenthened some from the version you have but they still get it too. You can swap out your bushings and make a big difference. Take a look on the Maximum Motorsports website and Steeda as i remember seeing them there...they are usually referred to as pills or something among the Cobra crowd. Have you browsed over at SVT Performance at all?

I can roast my tires just fine. But If you can't, I wouldn't think anything is wrong with your IRS because of that. But you might seriously looking into an IRS brace to protect your IRS. The BilletFlow IRS brace is the best you can buy.

Brace kit & bushings will help, it'll probably solve it all. You seriously cannot let your IRS wheel hop. It will kill the half shafts quicker than you think.

IRS has a tendency to 'lift' in the rear rather than squat. Sounds crazy, but it's true. I only started getting wheel hop when my tires got pretty close to being bald. I will be taking care of the tires in a few more weeks. [8D]
