Here's a few links you can look at for doing gears. I plan on doing mine myself as well, doesn't seem too hard and I've heard from a few people on here that it is definitely do-able if you have the time. http://www.superstallions.com/tech/d...ars/gears.html

I am located in Springfield, MO and all the shops out here seem to be scared to death of fuel injection and computer tuning. They all offer to try but they admit that I know just as much about it as they do. As far as installing the gears. I have taken gears in and out of several different vehicles in order to make repairs but this is a little different when it comes to lining everything up. When you go back with the same gears for repairs everything is already lined up for you, you just have to bolt them in. What is a dial caliper and how do you use it?
take it to a shop, trust me if you asked that

Sinister thanks for the tech articles, that is what I was looking for. As for taking it to a shop I am with 99mustanggt. I have had too many shops do weak work for me. If it is going to be messed up I would rather do it myself than get ripped off by having someone else do it. Thanks for the help guys.

i have the steeda tri ax and i didnt have to cut the boot either and the noise isnt really all that loud

After i put my new tranny in, i went for a test drive without the boot or anything; could see straight down onto the road. Driving that it sounded like there was a jet in my car, especially with the procharger venting to the atmosphere.

You need a dial indicator to do the gears not a caliper ,I screwed that up in my first post.
