I THINK I FRIED MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While looking for a power wire from the back of the head unit to run to the reote on my amp, I accidently touched a live wire to the metal casing on the headunit. The wire instantly fused to it and now the headunit doesnt work. I think the hu is fine because one of the power wires in the stereo harness does not give power any more. I checked all of the fuses but they seemed to be ok. I cant tell what the big black ones are or do. Did i cook a wire somewhere or is it just a fuse? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

in all likely hood you just popd a fuse - check both boxes and the amp/head unit/ in line fuse and ground...
haha ive grounded out so bad that the wire became a welder and never fried an ecu.. it should be ok

you may of fried the power wire. also those big black wires that run thro each part of the radio harness are just drain wires. they help to keep electomagnetic interferance down to a minimum
