Totaled 03/04Cobras arent exactley a dime a dozen.... even then you will not pay less than 10k for it... it just wont happen. The motors are just far to desired and valuable.

The guy sent me back saying he had it repaired at a frame shop, so he would assume that they made sure it was straight. He said the engine wasn't damaged at all. He has someone coming from Georgia to look at it Tuesday, and he lives in North Carolina. So I don't know how low he will go on it. I'm gonna try and bring my Dad, because he was always good at haggling down prices. Talked a dealship down over $1,000 on my first car (V6 Mustang).[/align]

I'll never get another car with *minor* frame damage. It's only minor if it's not your car with the damage. I can see the temptation on the Terminator but I personally won't ever do it again.

+1, that's obsurd to charge 17k on a salvaged car with frame damage. At most for a terminator maybe 12-13k.

Really?? You guys SERIOUSLY believe this car is not worth AT LEAST 15K? the Motor ALONE is worth 10k! You will be able to get at least 15k just in parting the car out!

Salvage completely destroys resale value of car and trade in value if you decide to get rid of it in the future. Plus, most cars are just never the same after major frame damage. Talk him down to atleast 14 and I would do it. Make sure to get frame inspected before you do anything.

i know where you are comming from and where these guys are comming from as well. but id say 13k i mean it was repaired and such but the drivetrain must have been abused if it needs "new tires" maybe he was doing some burn outs but none the less you still have to buy more tires which is another 600+/- depending on if you go cheap or not.

Salvage = 1/2 price of clear title. A salvage cobra motor is not worth $15K! It may run fine now, but, with an impact hard enough to warp the frame, who knows if the bearings in the drivetrain are out of alignment. You won't get 100K miles out of it. I would pay $10-12K knowing I'm gonna put $10K into over time.
