ya u need a special $90 tool for the valves.. and you will need a torque wrench. other then that you will just need basic hand tools.. sockets, ratchets, etc.

search for like Ford Valve Spring Tool or something.

IMO you don't want to go with the biggest cam in comps line. The mid levels (268s?) are a much better choice for a car with the stock heads/intake and shortblock.

A big cam doesn't nessicarrily mean big power. All your really doing is shifting the powerband, but shifting it to high witha big big cam only nets you a loss of drivablity etc and not much WHP up top (because you cannot rev high enough to take advantage of the big cam).

Without a forged assembly you will still not take true advanage of the cams RPM potential.

I know that after my install of the VT stage 2s (when still n/a) I wished I had gone with the stage 1s. After the blower went on I changed my opinion, but I gave up over 8 FT/LBs with the 2s and usually a stage 1 looses nothing. IfI remeber right and the 270 is the "big" cam from comp you may loose even more TQ down low.

The 268ah is the st1, the 270ah is the st2 and the 278ah is the st3,
the 270's are very good street cams but you have to degree them or you will have a good chance of PTV. Comp grinds 4 degrees of advance in their cams unless you order them without and that combined with the stock timing being up to 7-8 degrees advanced on some cars and it can ruinyour day.
