Default Decent Paint Job

Hello. I was just wondering on how much im looking at for a decent paint job on my 96 Mustang GT. Its got little chips and the car was repainted before i got a hold of it. So there two paint jobs over one another. How much am i looking at to sand blast the entire thing and a decent looking paint job? Thanks

How much am i looking at
The cost of paint + the time it takes to learn how to do it! My dad did autobody for a long time, and the process really isn't that hard, just time consuming.

Sand blast????

You need to go get quotes. A proper paint job that is the factory color, with material & assuming there is minimal to no filler work needed - materials will be over $900 & labor will most certainly exceed $1500.

However, all shops vary. IMO, don't price shop when it comes to body work. Quality shop and be ready to pimp yourself to pay for it if you want it done right.

+1
You'll want to ask how many coats of clear are included in the price and also if they have a heat booth.
I was quoted $1700 to re spray mine. It includes 3 coats of clear and will be baked in the booth.
I looked at a few cars they were prepping and had just painted and quality looks great.

DO NOT SAND BLAST your car. It will warp all the steel panels and you will have a wavy car. For striping look into soda blasting, it won't harm the metal and is safe for the plastic parts as well. Anyways a full paint with a strip job will be $3-4000 easy for quality work.
