aren't they all going to be sold at auction once they hit a certain age/mileage? I remember reading that somewhere. I know the guy who rented one and raced it at Fun Ford Weekend and actually won his class supposedly got busted because MMFF posted his name and the car in the mag.

lol i love how its called "the black box"
I had a guest lecturer that was from a company called Pi, they make data logging systems for f1 cars, planes, etc., and they actually do call them black boxes.

Most will be sold at auction, the remaining ones will be distributed to Ford dealerships for public sale.

I've heard stories of how people buy an old 60's Shelby GT350H & when they're restoring them they pull back the carpet & can see evidence of someone once welding in a rollbar in for weekend racing then cutting it out before returning the rental car

The black box stuff is true. We got held up for a long time when returning our Hertz Mustang because they scanned it and they instantly knew we beat the hell out've it. They called in the head honcho at the rental place and we got held up for another hour or two while they checked EVERYTHING... We ended up being charged for brake pads (they were glazed). I would not have argued if they had charged me for tires, but they didn't. Good people...
