Installing lowering springs w/o caster camber plates
Hey guys. I have a friend, he has a 97 GT coupe, he installed some HR spring without changing the shocks/struts or adding caster camber plates. It looks and rides beautifully, but I've always heard this is a really bad idea with inboard springs. I have my HR spring and Strange 10-way adjs (finally! *mumbles* damn two month back order [:@]) sitting in my garage. I haven't put them in yet because I don't have the CC plates. Mine is a 98 GT vert. Since the CC plates are about three months out because I'm moving, can I install the springs and shocks now andbe ok till I get the CC plates? Also, in the Tech article on suspension, it says to change the sway bar links to shorter ones. Anyone know how short, or rather how long the new ones needs to be? I believe the stockers are 3.25in., but I may be mistaken. Thanks as always for all the help!

You will be fine if your lowering was anymore in the front I would say it would be a big deal but you could even get away with c/c's in the front if you wanted to being only a 1.5" drop.

I've ran about 10 months with new C-Springs; even after an alignment. The inside of my front tires.... are wearing bad. I should have bought cc plates a long time ago.

Yeah I'm definately going to be getting the CC plates, but right now all my money is tied up in this move. I'll be driving across country, Cali to Indiana, and I dont have alot of room in the car, so I was gonna install the springs and shocks to make more room. It's a, throw what I can in the car and go type of move haha [&:]. Thanks for the info, if anyone has anything else, please let me know. 3500mi is a long trip to have a problem on.

The drop is different for sn95's. Its like 1-1.25 inch drop in the front for them. On the new edges its 1.5 inch drop in the front which is just enough to so it cant be adjusted properly without aftermarket cc plates.

I'm not saying for sure. However lizzy said he didnt have problems with his and I know for a fact c-springs are less of a drop on your cars. So take what you want from that.
